Jon Graves on a mountain summit

THE SEVEN
SUMMITS
CHALLENGE

Three years ago, I was 27 stone. I needed a challenge bigger than the gym. Enter Nimsdai, an opportunity to climb with the best mountaineer in the world. The deal was simple: if I don't train, I'll be an embarrassment. Eleven stone lost and three summits with him later, we're ready for number four. This is the Seven Summits Challenge.

SUMMITS
ACHIEVED

2024

Kilimanjaro

Tanzania, Africa

5,895m

The first. Proof of concept. Standing on the roof of Africa and realising this was only the beginning.

2025

Aconcagua

Argentina, South America

6,961m

The highest peak outside Asia. A brutal, technical climb that tested everything physically and mentally.

2025

Mount Vinson

Antarctica

4,892m

The most remote mountain on earth. Antarctica strips everything back. No distractions. Just the mountain, the cold, and your own mind.

WHAT MOUNTAINS
TEACH BUSINESS

People ask why someone running 87 people across multiple businesses spends weeks at altitude in extreme conditions. The answer is that the two things are not separate. The mindset that gets you up a mountain is exactly the mindset that closes deals and turns around distressed businesses.

Commitment before conditions

You don't wait until everything is perfect before you start. You commit, then figure it out. That's how I approach acquisitions and how I approach mountains.

The summit is optional. Coming back is not.

Every deal has a walk-away point. Knowing when to push and when to pull back is the difference between a great acquisition and a disaster. Mountains teach you that lesson fast.

Discomfort is the price of progress

Running 87 people across multiple businesses is uncomfortable. Climbing in -40C is uncomfortable. Both require you to stay calm, stay focused, and keep moving.

You are the bottleneck

On a mountain, you can't delegate the hard parts. Neither can you in business, not really. The work you avoid is exactly the work that matters most.
